Common questions

Does it need the internet?

No. Billing, stock, reports and registers all work offline. You need a connection to install the software, to receive updates, and if you use the automatic reading of supplier invoices.

Where is my data kept?

In an encrypted database on your own computer, in a folder you choose during setup. We do not hold a copy and cannot see your sales.

What happens if the computer fails?

Restore your most recent backup on another Windows machine and tell us, so we can reissue your activation key for it. Keep backups on a drive that is not inside the same computer.

I have forgotten my backup password.

We cannot recover it. The backup is encrypted with that password and there is no way in without it. Print the recovery sheet when you set it up and keep it where you keep your licence papers.

Can I move from my old software?

Usually yes. If you can export your product list, customers and opening stock to Excel or CSV, we will help bring it in.

Can two counters bill at once?

Yes, on one shop licence. One computer holds the database and the others bill against it over the shop network. We will set this up with you.

Does it handle wholesale as well as retail?

Yes. Both are in the same software, with the invoice format, tax treatment and registers appropriate to each.

Is it approved for drug inspection?

No software is approved as such. Pharma Remit produces the Schedule H, H1 and NDPS registers and purchase and sale records that are asked for. Keeping them accurate remains the pharmacist's responsibility.

Before you write to us

  • Note what you were doing when it went wrong — which screen, which button.
  • Photograph the screen, including any message in full.
  • Tell us your shop name, so we can find your licence.
  • If billing is stopped, say so in the first line and we will treat it first.
