Where your data is kept

Pharma Remit stores your pharmacy's records — products, stock, batches, bills, customers, suppliers, registers and reports — in an encrypted database on the computer where the software is installed, in a folder you choose during setup.

We do not receive a copy of that database. We cannot see your sales, your stock, your customers or your financial records. There is no account to sign up for and nothing is synchronised to a server of ours.

When information does leave your computer

There are a small number of situations where data leaves the machine, and in each one it is because you asked for it:

Reading a supplier's invoice automatically

If you use the feature that reads a purchase invoice for you, the invoice file or photograph you selected is sent to Google's Gemini service, which returns the items it has read. That supplier invoice may contain the supplier's name and GSTIN, your shop's name and GSTIN, and the products, batches and rates printed on it. Google processes it under its own terms. If you do not want invoices sent off the machine, do not use this feature and enter purchases by hand instead.

WhatsApp reminders

When you send a customer a payment reminder, the software hands the message and the customer's number to WhatsApp on your device. WhatsApp handles it from that point under its own terms. We do not see the message.

Backups

Backups are written to the folder, drive or network location you choose. If you choose a folder that is synchronised to a cloud service, your backup goes wherever that service sends it. That choice, and the security of that service, is yours.

Updates and installation

The software is installed and updated through the Microsoft Store, which handles those connections. Microsoft's own privacy terms apply to that.

Activation and licensing

To issue a licence we collect the details you send us: your shop name, address, contact name, phone number, email and the identifier shown in the activation screen. We use them to issue and reissue your key and to contact you about the software. Activation itself is verified on your computer without contacting us.

Support

If you send us a screenshot, a log or a backup so we can investigate a problem, we use it only to fix that problem and delete it afterwards. Please remove anything you do not want us to see before sending it.

Payment information

Pharma Remit does not process payments. When you record how a customer paid, that is a note in your own records. The software holds no card numbers, no bank passwords and no payment credentials, and it is not connected to any bank or payment processor.

Your patients' and customers' data

Records you enter about customers and prescriptions stay on your computer under your control. You are responsible for that information under the law that applies to your pharmacy. We recommend restricting who can sign in to the billing machine and keeping backups secure.

This website

This site is a set of plain pages. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies and asks for nothing from you. If you email us from here, we have your email address and whatever you wrote in it.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be mentioned in the software's release notes.

Terms of use

Your licence

A Pharma Remit licence is granted to one pharmacy. It covers the billing counters operating in that pharmacy's premises. It may not be transferred to another business or shared between separate shops. Each additional shop needs its own licence.

What we provide

We provide the software and the support described on the support page, and we will make reasonable efforts to correct faults you report.

What remains yours

Your records are yours. We claim no ownership of anything you enter and no right to use it.

Your responsibilities

  • Keeping backups, and checking that they restore.
  • Keeping your activation key and backup password safe. We cannot recover a lost backup password.
  • The accuracy of what you record, including tax rates, HSN codes, batches, expiry dates and register entries.
  • Meeting your obligations under drug and tax law. The software helps you keep records; it does not make you compliant on its own.

What the software is not

Pharma Remit is record-keeping software. It is not tax advice, not legal advice and not a clinical tool. It does not check prescriptions for interactions or suitability, and it is not a substitute for a pharmacist's judgement. Verify tax positions with your accountant and compliance questions with your drug authority.

Liability

We are responsible for providing the software as described. We are not liable for losses arising from data you entered incorrectly, from a failure to keep backups, from hardware or operating system failure, or from decisions taken on the basis of reports without checking them. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

Ending the licence

You may stop using the software at any time. Your data stays on your computer and can be exported to Excel from the reports screens. We may end a licence that is being used outside these terms, after telling you why.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Srinagar.
